The Crown of Contention

Napoleon loved Lucca and he entrusted the city to his sister Elisa. Maria Luisa was born queen but died duchess. She never saw with favour the Bonaparte strategy. The sovereign wanted to overshadow Elisa with a very ambitious public works plan. The thread, as a metaphor of the myth of Theseus and Ariadne, guides the protagonist in the maze of culture and time.
