What Lies Beneath
"I hear voices evoking spells wrapped in forbidden dreams. I feel the warmth of invisible hands holding me captive, while a black storm disrupts the rules of the world around me.
In the darkness of the night, the fire within me dances among the flames, a wild energy burning in the dark, while the moon silently observes, accomplice to my rebellious spirit. Pain creeps under my skin but I will pay with my courage. The wisdom of the moon reflects on me in a mysterious and haunting way. Its light hides secrets among the shadows and wonders are obscured by mist. Inaccessible to those who dare not face the terror, my soul hides beyond appearances. Enchantment, the accusations I receive and the hands that wrap around me dissolve in my fervour, like arrows swallowed by the darkness of my abyss.
Solitude becomes strength, melancholy a catalyst for change. My identity is not the result of fate, but a choice, a rebirth born from the disintegration of what had been imposed upon me."
My work delves into the unseen, exploring the silent struggles that shape our identities and our existence. Each piece is an invitation to confront the complexities of pain, resilience, and transformation. Through vibrant colours and intricate forms, I unravel emotional landscapes that speak to the dualities within us—where beauty intertwines with suffering, and strength emerges from vulnerability. These visual narratives reflect the tensions between external judgment and internal freedom, between the body as both vessel and temple. The themes of violence, isolation, and the search for self are ever-present, but so too is the possibility of rebirth, metamorphosis, and empowerment. I aim to reveal the truths buried beneath the surface, to offer a space for introspection and reflection. Each image is a mirror, urging the viewer to question their own emotions, their own narratives, and the cages they have constructed. Through this process of exploration, I seek to uncover the courage it takes to break free from the constraints of both society and the self, embracing the fullness of who we are, with all its contradictions and complexities.

My portfolio is deeply inspired by women who have faced judgment and isolation for their behavior or decisions, standing apart from societal norms. These women, often misunderstood and marginalized, embody a spirit of resistance and resilience. This theme is particularly significant within the context of my community.
Infact, during the Middle Ages, a lot of women were persecuted and executed as witches, their lives tragically cut short by ignorance and fear. This dark chapter in history reminds us of the immense courage and sacrifice it took to achieve freedom of expression. I seek to honor these women, finding a connection between the difficulties they faced and the challenges that continue to be faced by those who have the courage to be different.
The core message of the portfolio is the journey of self-discovery. It acknowledges that desires and ambitions can sometimes trap us, but through courage and sacrifice, one can break free.
