Naked Truths
Seven triptychs to speak of what has long remained in the silence of conventions. Each work is an act of healing, a wound stitched with images and words, where photography is not just vision, but a denunciation: of invisible violence, of ignored identities, of unheard voices. Washi paper, mirrors, threads, nets weave the fabric of a pain that can no longer remain in the shadows. These images do not ask, they demand to be seen, heard, felt. And you, will you be ready to look?
Encouraged to point the camera at myself for the first time, I discovered how powerful and difficult it is to confront my own vulnerability. This process taught me to look beyond the hypercritical gaze, to question the limits I imposed on myself, and to recognize the strength that arises from self-acceptance. However, this work is not only about me: it is a collective reflection, an act of listening and sharing with women who have found the courage to tell their stories.
Women who have endured violence, who live with chronic illnesses, who face discrimination linked to their gender identity, or who struggle to express themselves in contexts that silence them, as often happens within the Church. Their voices are the heart of this project, intertwining pain and resistance, struggle and rebirth. It is a journey that dismantles imposed roles, creating space for their strength and authenticity.
This work celebrates the resilience of these women, breaking the silence and opening new possibilities for expression and freedom. It is an invitation to see the beauty of what has been hidden or ignored.
The works are created with mixed media, where each element is carefully chosen to convey a specific message. The "naked truth" becomes tangible through heterogeneous materials, creating a bridge between message and artistic medium in a harmony of form and substance. Each material – frames, needle and thread, crosses, fabrics, jewelry, plastic – is a symbol that reflects the complexity of the stories told, inviting deeper reflection.
