Loving Dust

This diptych represents the story of a woman burned alive by her ex-partner. The eye with a red blood tear evokes her pain, while the pixelated mouth symbolizes silent suffering and complicated relationships. It is an invitation to break the silence and give voice to those who have been silenced. A tribute to the memory of the woman victim of the femicide in Lucca.

On the left, the eye of a woman with a tear of red blood symbolizes suffering, vulnerability, and the injustices that many women face, making hidden emotions and inner wounds visible. The red tear represents the struggle against gender-based violence or the painful experiences linked to identity and love. It embodies her sacrifice and the extreme consequences of violence, evoking a sense of injustice and powerlessness.

On the other hand, the pixelated mouth suggest silent suffering and the difficulty of expressing one's truth in a society that often minimizes or ignores the experiences of victims. The fact that it is placed on a sheet painted with red and yellow hearts symbolize love and passion, but also the vulnerability and fragility of relationships, especially when they are marked by violence and control.
